  • cooking oil
  • 1 cup corned beef, drained - preferably a brand with bigger chunks vs. sabog yung strands
  • 1 pc medium red onion, quartered
  • 2 pcs medium ripe tomatoes, quartered
  • 8 cups boiling water
  • 2 pcs medium-sized eggplant, sliced into rounds
  • 4 pcs okra, sliced into half crosswise
  • 1 bunch snake beans (sitaw), cut into 4-inch pieces
  • 1 bunch kangkong leaves (water spinach), stems discarded
  • 1 pc green chilli
  • 1 pc Knorr Sinigang mix Sampalok Mix (40 g) fish sauce (patis), to taste

Asim-Kilig Corned Beef Sinigang
  1. SAUTE INGREDIENTS In a large pot, brown the corned beef over medium heat. Remove and set aside. In the same pot, sauté the onion and tomatoes over medium heat until softened.

  2. CREATE THE SINIGANG BASE Add water to the pot with the sautéed ingredients. Bring to a boil. Stir in the Knorr Sinigang Mix Sampalok and fish sauce. Adjust seasoning to taste.

  3. ADD VEGETABLES AND CORNED BEEF Add the eggplant, okra, sitaw, and green chili and simmer for another 5 minutes. Return the corned beef to the pot, and let it heat through for 2 minutes. Add the kangkong leaves, turn off the heat, and cover for 2 minutes. Serve with rice and enjoy!
